Cranberry company Groenhof is a unique small-scale organic fruit company with a picking garden on the island of Terschelling, the Netherlands. The originally North American fruit ended up there in the 19th century via barrels from a ship that had been shipwrecked. There, the cranberry fields arose in the dune valleys. Cranberry company Groenhof has cultivated the cranberries and now has two fields of its own. The harvest of the cranberries takes place in two ways: dry and wet. The berries of the dry east are sold on the fresh market. Various cranberry products are made from the wet harvest in an artisan and authentic way, such as juice, syrup, jam, chutneys and compote.
