Garth Wind Limited's renewable energy project was set up entirely by members of the local community on the island of Yell. The installation of five turbines gives one of the most outer islands in the Shetlands a chance to reduce carbon emissions, provide new jobs and opportunities to local people, and provide added income for the community group.
